DEPARTMENT OF ARABIC
The department of Arabic Language and Literature offers a major program of study leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree for full time students and for part time students.To be accepted for the major in Arabic, a student must obtain a "C" average or better in Arab 120 and Arab 121. The following Arabic courses are required for the major: ARAB 103, 211, 212, 251, 252, 353, 311, 312, 313, 314, 315, 331, 332, 333, 334, 342, 351, 352, 354, 371, 391, 389.
  In addition, a student must take six credit hours from Arabic elective courses above the 300 level. Students taking Arabic major must take one of the following minors: Journalism: JMCO 131, 132, 231, 331, 332, Elective (JMCO 232, ARAB 322, 310) Translation:  ARAB 321, 322, 323, 328, 329; ENGL 304 (18 credit).
The Department offers these minors also for students from other Departments. It offers also a minor in Arabic ARAB 212, 311, 315, 251, 352 354. The Department also offers Hebrew language courses as electives, and the following elective courses in Arabic: ARAB 313, 316, 317, 321, 353, 372.
